This is Austin Hayman.

He was born in Santa Monica, California.
He was raised in Santa Rosa, California.

He is a figurative painter focusing on the sense of familiarity,
relatability, and what it means to be comfortable.

The juxtaposition of his time in Los Angeles and wine country
has allowed him to explore the beauty
in the mundane.

“In this work, it has been my initiative to emphasize
how the smallest moments in life can be the
most beautiful. Simple times
such as the sun hitting your face in a lounge chair
or cooking at home alone,
can seem insignificant,
but they are at the core of how we remember places
and periods through our lives.

These paintings exist to honour those moments,
and explore the body language of comfort.”
