Jai Sallay-Carrington

Jai Sallay-Carrington makes ceramic creatures with deep human souls.
Their sculptures are strange, tender, wild—each one asking what it means to live in a body, to carry identity, to show or withhold the truth of who you are.
As a queer, trans artist, Jai draws from their own experience to make work that honours the complexity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community—not just the pain or the politics, but the passions, the spirit, the joy.
The pieces featured here are part of their ongoing project, Trans Passions, a series that celebrates trans people not only as trans—but as whole human beings with obsessions, talents, and dreams.
These figures love.
They are seen.
They simply exist: proud, strange, joyful, and full of life.
