Shadow and Sax Poetry Journal, Volume 02: Group Portrait Without the Light
Group Portrait Without the Light is the second volume of the Shadow and Sax Poetry Journal, an intimate collection of poems by Courtney Buder, john compton, Alex Deng, Rob Madden, Ryan Di Francesco, Cathrina Jakeman, Erin Bedford, and Eleanor Holmes.
These poems dig through the earth, the city, the family, and the body. They move through subway cars, industrial landscapes, childhood streets, hospital rooms, and the strange architecture of memory.
The individual poems bleed into one another, gathering into a kind of collective portrait. The poets' names are deliberately withheld until the final pages, allowing each piece to exist briefly without its author and the reader to encounter the collection as a continuous, shifting conversation.
Group Portrait Without the Light is a small, intimate object of poetry.
